I landed in Manchester on tuesday night with high expectations of a great game against Milan the following night. I met up in the bar at the Britannia Hotel in Manchester with mates from Fosnavåg, Frank and Stian. We only had a few beers that night to get ready for the following day…
So it was early up next morning to go to the hotel to get my matchticket. It was as well great to meet people from the supporterclub at the Britannia Hotel again. People was very excited about the game and many where a bit nervous. And you should never write AC Milan off. It was also a great moment to meet my good mate Stig Løkken again after two and a half year! We will be there next weekend as well, when United takes on that red team from merseyside 😉 Thursday night, Channel Five! Thursday Night, Channel Five!…
I had mine thoughts beforehand that the GREEN & GOLD-campaign would be big. But this was just awesome. The whole Bishops Blaize was full of green and gold scarfs and retrokits. I thought I was at a Norwich-pub most of the times! It was talk about not attending the first ten minutes, but that never happened. But I think the United-fans should consider do something drastically. Cause ‘talk is cheap, you have to go out there and do it!’ That’s the words you often heard from mine and Stig’s hero Roy Keane!
It was anyway a great night. The highlights can you see below. I just have to say that from the moment David Beckham came on, it was a feeling of euphoria. I was there the last time he played a CL-match at Old Trafford, and to be there now again 7 years on was just amazing. A few tears pressed their ways out when he putted on that G&G-scarf at the end. I am very sure he knewed exactly what he was doing. Because he is a Unitedfan himself, so we all know he is at our side. I will always love that guy. In the interview after the game he said he did just put on the scarf to show support for the old Newton Heath-colours. He has given the G&G-campaign a face that gives it attention further than both britain and europe. And would probably put more pressure on the fucking Glazers… Well Done Becks!!
I just wish Edwin could have pretended not to stand any chance of saving that amazing volley from Becks. I am actually sure Old Trafford would have celebrated for him!
It’s just a week before I’m back in Manchester again. Then it is the scousers who surely will try to get their usual win and get Vidic sent off. It’s going to be a cracker! I hope it goes better this year at home. And United are in the mood nowadays to beat everyone, so it’s going to be very interesting!
I had a horrid time last thursday-morning, cause I had a bust up with the reception-guy at Hatters Hostel where he refused me to charge my phone. I could not get to my mate for a sleepover for that. So I ended up saying a bad thing to the receptionist and ended up on a hotelfloor. But heck! I was there when Beckham showed his support for the G&G-campaign! Have a good night!
Do you think Beckham took on the scarf to show his support for the G&G-campaign?
